Mason Emmert is a composer/arranger, singer/pianist, and musical director from Lancaster, PA. He’s been making music for as long as he can remember, from resisting practicing piano in elementary school to singing Von Trapp-style with his dad, brothers, and grandfathers!
Mason graduated from Haverford College in 2017 with a BA in Music and a minor in Psychology. While at Haverford, he sang in 3 choirs and an a cappella group, appeared in 4 student-led musicals, and provided musical direction for 3 more. Mason’s undergrad experience concluded with an original Senior thesis composition entitled “Three Psalms,” a setting of Psalms 12, 66, and 120 for SATB choir with a featured vocal quintet.
After graduation, Mason worked in senior living communities before moving to Philadelphia to pursue music full-time. Since January 2020, he has been the Director of Worship & Music at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. He also frequently spends his time arranging (especially for After the Bar), composing, and recording, and during non-pandemic times, he provides music direction musical theater productions in the Philadelphia area.
